LENGTH LIMITATIONS FOR SHELVES & VERTICAL SUPPORTS
CLOSET STYLE SHELVES
Limits have been placed on the length of Closet Style Shelves that HouseWerks will build. The reason for these limits is the lack of adequate support to keep Closet Style Shelves from bowing because of weight loading.
Elegant Clost Style Shelves are limited to 55" in length.
ThinLine Closet Style Shelves are limited to 40" in length.
CLASSIC DESIGNER STYLE SHELVES
The reason for limiting the length of Classic Designer Style Shelves and Vertical Supports is existing restrictions on the size of boxes that can be shipped.
The longest shelf or vertical support that can be shipped intact as one piece is 92". All shelves or vertical supports that exceed this limit must be cut and shipped in two or more sections.
Before installation, sections of shelves or vertical supports must be assembled using wood glue and wood biscuits, which are supplied by HouseWerks, to form biscuit joints.
There is no charge for extra-long vertical supports that require a biscuit joint. However, there is a $10.00 fee for each biscuit joint that is required to join two shelf sections. HouseWerks provides complete instructions and all materials needed.
A shelf that exceeds 184" will require two biscuit joints ($20.00). A shelf that exceeds 276" will require three biscuit joints ($30.00).
For example, a four-shelf unit with shelves 175" in length, will require four biscuit joints. The fee assessed for these four extra-long shelves is $40.00.
If you have any questions regarding biscuit joints or measurements of the shelving unit you are designing, please contact HouseWerks.
